Set up call forwarding in 8x8 so the calls your front desk misses go to your Recepta Desk number. 8x8 has separate rules for unanswered and busy calls.

How do I send the calls I miss to Recepta Desk in 8x8?

8x8 has separate rules for when a user is busy and when a user does not answer, and each can point to an outside number.

  1. 1In the Admin Console, open Home, then Users, and edit the user's profile.
  2. 2Scroll to Call forwarding rules.
  3. 3For 'When user does not answer the call within 15 seconds', choose Forward directly to a custom number and enter your Recepta Desk number.
  4. 4For 'When user is busy', do the same with the same number, then save.
  5. 5Place a test call, let it ring out, and confirm you get a text back.

Good to know

  • Enter the number with its country code, for example +1 for the US.
  • When 8x8 forwards to an outside line, Recepta Desk sees the caller's own number, which is what it needs to text them back.
