Comcast Business

Set up call forwarding on Comcast Business so the calls your front desk misses go to your Recepta Desk number. Comcast has two phone products, and they are set up differently.

How do I send the calls I miss to Recepta Desk on standard Comcast Business Voice?

If you have standard Comcast Business Voice on a desk phone, you set forwarding with star codes dialed from the handset.

  1. 1Pick up the handset and listen for a dial tone.
  2. 2Forward on no answer: dial *92, then enter your 10-digit Recepta Desk number.
  3. 3Listen for the confirmation, then hang up.
  4. 4Place a test call, let it ring out, and confirm you get a text back.

Good to know

  • Comcast's busy-only code is not clearly published. To also forward calls that arrive while your line is in use, set it from the Comcast Business app or call Comcast Business at (877) 761-7401.
  • Do not use *72, which forwards every call. *73 cancels forwarding.

Forward unanswered calls on Business VoiceEdge (online)

How do I set forwarding if I have Comcast Business VoiceEdge?

If you have Comcast Business VoiceEdge, the hosted phone system, you set forwarding in the VoiceEdge portal or the Comcast Business app, not with star codes.

  1. 1Sign in at voiceedge.comcast.com or open the Comcast Business app.
  2. 2Open your user Feature Settings.
  3. 3Turn on Call Forwarding No Answer and enter your Recepta Desk number. Add Call Forwarding Busy too if you want.
  4. 4Save, then place a test call and confirm you get a text back.

Good to know

  • VoiceEdge also has selective forwarding by time of day, which is useful for after-hours. Star codes cannot do that.
