How do I send the calls I miss to Recepta Desk in Ooma Office?

Ooma Office has a setting for forwarding unanswered calls, with a ring time in seconds, and one for busy calls, both to an outside number.

  1. 1Sign in at office.ooma.com and open Users.
  2. 2Click the gear icon on the extension, then open Call Handling.
  3. 3Turn on Call Forward When Unanswered, set the ring time in seconds, and enter your Recepta Desk number.
  4. 4Turn on Call Forward When Busy and enter the same number, then save.
  5. 5Place a test call, let it ring out, and confirm you get a text back.

Good to know

  • Set the ring time shorter than the voicemail pickup so the call forwards before voicemail grabs it.
  • Turn off 'require key press on answer' for this destination. Recepta Desk answers automatically and cannot press a key.
  • On the Call Forward settings, set the caller ID to Show original caller number, not your company phone number, so Recepta Desk sees the patient's number.
  • For a main number that rings a Ring Group, set the overflow under the Ring Group's 'If no one answers' instead.
