How do I send the calls I miss to Recepta Desk in Vonage?
Vonage builds forward-on-no-answer with a feature called Follow Me. It rings your desk first, then forwards to an outside number when no one answers.
- 1Sign in to the Admin Portal and go to Phone System, then Extensions.
- 2Hover the extension, click the pencil icon, and open Call Forwarding, then Follow Me.
- 3Set your desk to ring for a set time, then add your Recepta Desk number as the next destination.
- 4Save, place a test call, leave the desk unanswered, and confirm you get a text back.
Good to know
- Ring time per step runs from 10 seconds (2 rings) up to 60 seconds (12 rings).
- Never forward to a number that is part of the same Vonage call flow. That creates a call loop and inbound calls fail.
- Leave the caller ID on the forward set to Originating Caller ID, not Number on Account, so Recepta Desk sees the patient's number. Originating Caller ID is the default.
- Plain Forward Calls is closer to forward all. Use Follow Me for ring-then-forward.
